Daliah Gans Obituary
Asheville - Daliah Lavi Gans passed away peacefully at her residence, Wednesday, May 3, 2017.
Daliah has lived in Asheville, with her husband, Chuck Gans, since 1992. Prior to that, she was an international actress and singer, Daliah was fluent in five languages. A member of Congregation Beth Israel, in Asheville, Daliah's funeral and interment will take place in her native Israel.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Charles E. Gans; daughter, Kathy Rothman; three sons, Rouben, Alexander and Stephen Gans; five grandchildren, Sophie, Ben, Emma and Hannah Rothman and Levi Gans. She is also survived by her sister, Michal.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

As loyal fan since my childhood I will never forget her. I remember every gig she had in Stuttgart. I will forever love every song she made in German + Engl and few in Hebrew or her Gigs on our TV here in Germany. She was Language talent = genius and I miss her. Not only today

Daliah formed people around the world with all of her great songs starting in the late 60's. She had a wonderful distinguished voice which I grew up with and will never forget. RIP You Wonderful Soul!

I am shocked and feel very, very sad. Daliah has accompanied my life for almost 50 years and I can't believe that she has gone for ever. Words seem inadequate to express the sadness I feel but I would like to express my deep felt compassion for her husband and children.

I was 14 years old when Daliah celebrated her first success in Germany. She was our idol and we loved her. I saw her concerts in Frankfurt in 1975 in the sold out Jahrhunderthalle and in 2009 in the old opera in Frankfurt. When you entered the room he was satisfied. Your music has accompanied me all my life. I ask that angels be with her. She rest in peace. My condolences to her family.

Her beautiful voice lives on in her recordings. Today, 5/7/2017, the Bavarian, Germany radio (BR Plus) featured Daliah's song "Mutter Erde Weint", translated "Mother Earth Cries".
A timely song about how our civilization is negatively impacting our planet (Mother Earth).

I was very shocked and I could not realize until now that my beloved Daliah is gone now... Since my childhood (1971) as a nine year old girl I like her very much with her special Songs with intelligent singing (she had a natural Talent) and her nice and soft voice - she was a real beauty with very withfeeling character and wisdom. She had also a natural Noblesse, when she appeared anywhere her natural Aura and Charisma filled the surrounding - in my opinion there is no more any person and singer like her again. I was also glad always when she was happy and in good Hands with her nice husband Chuck, accompanied also by her lovely childrens. She is always in my heart and the Meetings with her were always like a costful eternal presents in my remembries - I always enjoyed only to watch her with her nice movements and speakings. She called me always so lovely "Gabilein" - I dont know now how to overcome this big lost and inside a part of myself is also dead. I feel also with her husband and her Childrens/grandchildrens...

Ich war noch sehr jung anfang bis mitte der 1970 er Jahre.Bei uns im Hallenbad meines Heimatortes Weeze am Niederrhein lief zu jeder zeit die Musik auf voller Lautstärke. Bademeister "BOBO" ware ein Fan von Daliah....Mir war damals schon klar:Ihre Stimme ist besonders

My condolences to Daliah Lavi's husband and children and to her sister Michal in Evron - and the whole family.
I would have loved to talk to her. Daliah Lavi became - without knowing - one of the most important personalities of my life. I just left my homeland Slovenia in 1968 since my father got a job in Switzerland. I felt very unhappy and lonely missing my family and friends and the beautiful nature around my home in Kranj, when I first heard this warm and special voice comforting me with her songs. It was the first time in my life that I was confronted with terms like "Jewish" and "Israel" - I was a child then. And I wanted to know everything! I have been interested in history from a very young age already back in Slovenia - now the fascinating journey of my interest in Jewish History began. Starting with the diary of Anne Frank and continuing with everything I could get to read about Jewish History culminating in my PhD, Second PhD at the University of Basel, many visits to Israel, volunteering at Evron, being part of conferences at the Hebrew University and working for several years at the Simon-Dubnow-Institute for Jewish Studies at the University of Leipzig and doing research at the Central Archives of the History of the Jewish People in Jerusalem.
I am very sad.

I remember ,while still living in Czechoslovakia I saw this beautiful girl in one of the Karl May's novel made in to lavish 70 mm films.Many young men in my age were in love with her.Than, on American continent, I recognized her in one of the Dean Martin's movies.And that was only few I can mention.She left quite a number of cinematographic treasures.I would be glad if I could leave even a small fraction of something so beautiful as her art, as in cinema so in her great musical performances.Leaving too soon and too young and therefore will be missed even more fiercely.Otto Kristen
