Helped run several restaurants

MEREDITH - Bella Davis of Barnard Ridge Road, Meredith, passed away on June 10, 2010, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Bella loved her family, flowers, gardens and her church.

Born in Brockton, Mass., she married Theo Davis, sharing his life for 59 years. During that time, they operated several Lakes Region restaurants starting in the 1950s with Sweetland in downtown Laconia and ending their career with the Pierside Restaurant in Glendale in the 1980s.

Bella was predeceased by her husband in 2005 and by a brother, Angelo Tatakes.

She leaves behind two daughters, Virginia Davis, and Elaine Hogan and her husband, Roger Hogan; a son, Steven Davis; three grandchildren, Tianna Adams and her husband, Christopher Adams, Abby Davis and Hannah Davis; and two great-grandchildren, Tucker Moore and Quinn Adams; two brothers, James Tatakes and Peter Tatakes.

There will be no calling hours. A family graveside service will be held in Gilford.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Bella's memory can be made to the Meredith Public Health Nursing Association, Route 25, Meredith NH 03235 whose staff contributed so much to the quality of the final months of her life.
