GILFORD - Fred L. Gardner, 78, of 336 Intervale Rd., E6, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010.

Mr. Gardner was born July 26, 1932, in Joplin, Mo., the son of William and Fay V. (Hodges) Gardner.

Mr. Gardner served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and had been employed as an engineer at Boeing Aircraft for many years. He resided in Joplin for most of his life, moving to Gilford 2½ years ago.

Mr. Gardner enjoyed golf.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Gill) Gardner of Gilford; a son, Fred Nolan Gardner of Neosho, Mo.; a stepson, John Gill of Durham; two stepdaughters, Ranae Ladieu of Boston, Mass., and Julie Ellis of Meredith; two grandchildren, Katie Gardner and Jeff Gardner of Neosho, Mo.; a sister, Jeanie Gardner of Colorado; and several nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gardner was predeceased by a son, Bruce Gardner, and by two sisters and two brothers.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services.
