Richard K. Boback, 60, of Wilkes-Barre passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, April 16, 2013, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born Dec. 7, 1952, in Wilkes-Barre, to Bernard Boback Sr. and the late Nancy Litchman Boback.
He graduated from Coughlin High School in 1970. He was the owner of the Autoworks Inc. in Wilkes-Barre for 17 years. He retired this year from the Luzerne County Transportation Authority as a mechanic.
Rick loved spending time with his family. He was completely devoted to his wife and the love of his life, Nancy. They were married 30 wonderful years. He was an amazing father to his two children, Nicole and Rick Jr., and he could never be separated from his beloved dog, Daisy.
Rick was a true car enthusiast. He was a life member of the Northeast Pennsylvania Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club. He owned many antique and classic cars, his passion being mainly the Corvette. He also loved fishing, spending time with his friends, fixing anything and everything, and going to the casino.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Elko Boback; his father, Bernard Boback; his daughter, Nicole, and his son, Richard Jr., at home; his sister, Bonnie Matan and her husband, Ron, Easton; his brothers, Bernard (Buz) Boback and his wife, Karen, Harveys Lake; and Ronald Boback and his wife, Mary Ann, Trucksville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from Simon S. Russin Funeral Home, 136 Maffett St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Parish Community of St. Andre Bessette's St. Stanislaus' Kostka Church, North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Michael Kloton, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township, Wilkes-Barre.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
