Ruddy, Elizabeth H. - Kingston  
Elizabeth H. Ruddy, 98, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Kingston Health Care Center. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late John Anthony and Mary Cecelia McDaniels Conniff. She was a graduate of Harter High School, Class of 1935 in Plymouth Township, and prior to her retirement, she was employed by McCrory's as a clerk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Ruddy; sons, Andrew J., John and Donald Ruddy; grandson-in-law, Benjamin Zimmerman; brother, Jack Conniff; sisters, Agnes Mikus, Mary Searles and Ellen Zapotak. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Ruthanne Ruddy; grandchildren, Cynthia Zimmerman, Edwardsville; Andrew Ruddy and wife, Kate, Trucksville; David Ruddy and wife, Sharon, Kingston; great-grandchildren, Emma and Veronica Zimmerman, Andrew, Matthew and Ian Ruddy; and great-great-grandson, Andrew Ruddy; sisters, Catherine Papula, Theresa Tibus and Ann Beshada. Elizabeth was a sweet, wonderful mother, grandmother and sister. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with the Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in St. Vincent's Cemetery, Larksville. Family and friends are asked to go directly to church. Arrangements are entrusted to Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home Inc., 568 Bennett St., Luzerne. No. 5 Auxillary and long standing member of AMVETS, Post 59 Auxillary. The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church.

Rohland, Irene J.  
Irene J. Rohland, 91, formerly of West Pittston, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Golden Living Center, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Katherine Jastern. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, in 1976. Surviving are her sons, Jerry and his wife, JoAnn, Nanticoke; and David, Wilkes-Barre; daughter, Elaine Nash, Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 173 E. Green St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Barry Lohman officiating. Rusnak, Florence M. - Upper Montclair  
Florence M. Rusnak (née Polkowski), 87, of Upper Montclair, N.J., passed away peacefully Sunday, June 28, 2015, surrounded by her family. Born in Pringle, Mrs. Rusnak was raised in Larksville and, upon marriage to Joseph J. Rusnak in 1951, moved to Montclair, N.J., where she resided since. Prior to retiring in 1992, she had been employed by the deli department of A&P Supermarket in Montclair, N.J., for 25 years. Earlier employment had been with Hahne's department store, formerly in Montclair, N.J., where she was a saleswoman. A deeply religious woman, Mrs. Rusnak was a faithful parishioner of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Montclair, N.J., and was devoted to the Blessed Mother and enjoyed collecting angels. She was a member of the "Dirty Dozen" club in Clifton, N.J., with whom she enjoyed get-togethers, card games and many vacations. Mrs. Rusnak was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph J. Rusnak, in 2007, and by two dear siblings, Eleanor Polkowski Emerick and Joseph Polkowski. She is survived by her three devoted children, Jeffrey Rusnak and his wife, Lorraine, Pompton Lakes, N.J.; Janice Rusnak, Upper Montclair, N.J.; and Jeanmarie Young and her husband, William, Midlothian, Va.; two cherished sisters, Josephine Zuba, Edwardsville; and Rosalie Motyka, Plymouth; and five adored grandchildren, Kaitlin Young, Emily Young and her fiancé, Peter Mason, Cristopher Young and his wife, Cassie, Justin Young and Hakeem Young. Funeral services will be at 9:15 a.m. Friday from Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, N.J., and at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 30 N. Fullerton Ave., Montclair, N.J. Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park Mausoleum, Union, N.J. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
