Zak, Michael Thomas - Ashley  
Michael Thomas Zak, 61, of Fall Street, Ashley, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, March 4, 2015, at his home. Michael was born in Wilkes-Barre on March 29, 1953. He was the son of the late Thomas and Marie Pollock Zak. Michael was a graduate of St. Leo's High School, Class of 1971. He was employed as a truck driver by Sears Distribution Center, Hanover Township, for 17 years until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Sugar Notch, and was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus St. Dymphna Council 12814, Sugar Notch. Michael was a true family man. He was always the life of the party. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He enjoyed working in his yard, woodworking, collecting antiques and coins, and tinkering with cars in his garage that he and his son built. He will be sadly missed be all who knew and loved him. Surviving are his wife of 38 years of marriage, the former Karen Palicki, Ashley; daughter, Mary Beth Williams and companion, Allen Sweet, Wilkes-Barre; son, Thomas Zak, Ashley; his grandchildren, whom he adored, Landon, Damon, Ayden and Ethan; and sisters, Ann and Christine Zak, Wyoming. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services for Michael will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family Parish, Main Street, Sugar Notch, with the Rev. Joseph Kakareka officiating. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Fresenius Medical for their compassionate care given to Michael during his illness.

Zampetti, Rita - Dallas  
Rita Zampetti, 81, of Dallas, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully Monday, March 2, 2015, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was born in Edwardsville on Dec. 8, 1933, a daughter of the late Joseph and Antonina Kopic Liebioda. Rita was a graduate of Edwardsville High School, Class of 1952. Prior to her retirement in 2007, she was employed as a data processing administrator for 32 years by the Social Security Administration. Rita was a member of the PP&L Redi Wives and she served as a Girl Scout leader and PTA mother at Dodson Elementary School in Wilkes-Barre. Rita was affectionately known as NaNa by her loving grandchildren. She enjoyed spending her afternoons playing cards and socializing in the recreation room where she resided. Rita also enjoyed bus trips to Atlantic City and going to Mohegan Sun. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Ralph V. Zampetti, on Feb. 27, 2015, and by her two brothers and three sisters. Rita is survived by her daughters, Debra Clocker and her husband, Richard, Benton; Maria Pavlick and her husband, Robert, Shavertown; Donna Pegg and her husband, John, West Wyoming; and Lisa Jackson and her husband, Ryan, Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Richard Clocker, Morgan Hartman and her husband, Chad, Dylan and Mackenzie Pegg and Taylor Pavlick; sisters-in-law, Helen Amendola and Antoinette Saraka and her husband, Larry; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Genaro Aguilar will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Zagorsky, Hannah M. - Plymouth And Harveys Lake  
Hannah M. Zagorsky of Plymouth and Harveys Lake passed away quietly Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Tiffany Court, Kingston. She was born Feb. 5, 1924, in Edwardsville, the daughter of the late Stephen and Ann Jenkins Lewis. She was a graduate of Edwardsville High School, Class of 1942. After her graduation from high school, she proudly served her country as a navy apprentice seaman, first class, during World War II. She was later the owner/operator of The Clothes Closet, a women's clothing store in Plymouth, for 20 years. Mrs. Zagorsky was a former member of the Dr. Edwards Memorial Congregational Church in Edwardsville, where she was a soloist and member of the choir. She was currently a member of the First Welsh Baptist Church of Plymouth, where she was also a member of the choir and Bible Study Group until she became ill. She was a member of the Plymouth Inter-Church Bowling League for 45 years and was an avid football fan, especially the Denver Broncos. She was very proud of her Welsh heritage and loved to be the life of the party. Quick witted, she had a plethora of one liners and always had a joke ready. Holiday decorations were her passion and she loved to decorate her home for every season. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert R. Zagorsky; sisters, Blodwyn Lewis and Ellen Moran; and brother, Stephen Lewis. She is survived by her daughter, Doreen Z. Makos (Michael); son, Robert S. Zagorsky (Pamela); grandchildren, Christopher Makos (Julianna), Russell Makos, Victoria Zagorsky, Nathan Zagorsky and Alexander Zagorsky; two great-grandsons, Zachary Makos and Evan Zagorsky; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her faithful dog, Jax. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with the Rev. Anita Ambrose, pastor of the First Welsh Baptist Church, Plymouth, officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Nativity Cemetery, Plymouth Township. Zampetti, Ralph V.  
Ralph V. Zampetti, 80, of Wilkes-Barre passed away peacefully Friday Feb. 27, 2015, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Enrico and Catherine DeGuglielmo Zampetti. Ralph was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School, Class of 1952, Wilkes-Barre. He was employed by PPL until his retirement in 1995. Surviving are his former wife, Rita Lebioda Zampetti, Dallas; daughters, Debra Clocker and husband, Richard, Benton; Maria Pavlick and husband, Robert, Shavertown; Donna Pegg and husband, John, West Wyoming; and Lisa Jackson and husband Ryan, Charlotte, N.C.; and grandchildren, Richard Clocker, Morgan Hartman, Dylan Pegg, Mackenzie Pegg and Taylor Pavlick.
