Parry, Ann Marie - Edwardsville  
Ann Marie Parry, 79, of Edwardsville passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015, at HCR-Manorcare, Kingston. Born in Edwardsville on April 26, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Lenchak. She was a graduate of Edwardsville High School and the Wilkes-Barre Business College. She was employed by Wilkes College, Wilkes-Barre, as the secretary of admissions, until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Parry. She is survived by her adopted family and caregivers, Phillip and Chris Scavone and their family, who would like to send their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Manorcare for the kind and compassionate care of Ann Marie during her stay there. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John the Baptist Church, Nesbitt Street, Larksville. (Please meet directly at the church.) Interment will follow in Resurrection of Our Lord Cemetery, Lehman Township.

Peterson Sr., Leonard J. - Hanover Township  
Leonard J. Peterson Sr., 79, of Hanover Township passed away Friday, June 26, 2015, in Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, surrounded by his loving family. He battled cancer for close to six years with courage and perseverance. He was born in Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, on March 5, 1936, the son of Peter Christian Peterson and Stella Bolka Peterson. Leonard was a graduate of Hanover Township High School, Class of 1953. Leonard served in the Navy for four years. Upon completion of his military service, Leonard served as a Pennsylvania State Trooper for 34 years, retiring from Troop P, Shickshinny Station, in 1992. He was a member of St. Bellarmine Parish at St Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre. Leonard was an avid deer hunter and loved to go trout fishing with his family and friends during his entire life. He also loved watching Penn State football, and was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Bober Peterson, in 2011; his brother, Bernard Peterson; and sisters, Alma Fetchick and Irene Welgoss. Leonard is survived by his sons, Leonard J. Peterson Jr., at home; John P. Peterson Sr. and his wife, Jennifer, Pittston; daughter, Lynda Nichols and her husband, Jeffrey, Mountain Top; grandsons, John Peterson and Justin Peterson; along with granddaughter, Alyssa Zlotek. The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from Kielty-Moran Funeral Home Inc., 87 Washington Ave., Plymouth. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. in All Saints Parish, Willow Street, Plymouth. The family will receive friends and relatives from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Priestman, Ethel A. - Hanover Township  
Ethel A. Priestman, 89, of the Askam section of Hanover Township, passed away at Birchwood Nursing Center on Thursday, July 2, 2015. She was born on April 23, 1926 in Pikes Creek to the late Levi Nathaniel Lewis and Pearl Redmond Lewis. She attended schools in Lake Township and Hanover Township. She worked for the Cohen-Fein dress factory and retired from Hanover Area School District, where she was part of the support staff. Ethel was a member of the Welsh Presbyterian Church, Warrior Run, where she was active in the Ladies' Aid Society and also sang in the choir. She was a member of the Askam Fireman's Auxiliary and the 400 Club, Nanticoke, as well as the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 176. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Priestman; brothers, Bernard and Russell Naugle, Osbourne "Ozzie" Lewis; sisters, Agnes Palmer, Leona Cragle, Evelyn Urbanovitch, Helen Warrell; and grandson, Eddie Turchin. Ethel is survived by sons, Tom Priestman and wife, Joan; Ron Priestman and wife, Helen; Russ Priestman and wife, Sue, all of Hanover Township; daughters, Bonnie Turchin and husband, Ed, Jackson Township; Debbie Grenewicz and husband, Joseph, Hanover Township; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. You couldn't ask for a more loving, caring mother and grandmother. She was happiest when surrounded by her family. She would share her last dime. She loved watching the ballroom dancing and polka shows Saturday nights on PBS. She was a dedicated Elvis fan. In the six months that she was at Birchwood, she captured the hearts of the staff and residents with her ever-present smile and pleasant disposition. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Welsh Presbyterian Church, Chestnut Street, Warrior Run. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home Inc., 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke. Interment will be in Hanover Green cemetery. Family and friends are invited to go directly to the church Tuesday morning. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Welsh Presbyterian Church, 390 Chestnut St., Warrior Run.
