Lipinski, Mary (Gardecki) - Swoyersville  
Mary (Gardecki) Lipinski, 70, of Swoyersville, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016, at the Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. Born in East Orange, N.J., daughter of the late Leonard and Josephine Werchok Gardecki. Mary was a graduate of Swoyersville High School, Class of 1964. Mary was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She also enjoyed reading, baking and word games. Mary loved to laugh and will be fondly remembered for always saying "Never Lose Your Sense of Silly." She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard and John. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Anthony; daughters, Donna Wielgopolski and husband, Patrick, Hanover Township; and Christine Stolinas and husband, Randy, Allentown; a son, Anthony, at home; and four grandchildren, Steven and Caryn Wielgopolski and Abby and Emma Stolinas. The family would like to thank the staff at Celtic Hospice for the care they provided Mary. As per Mary's wishes, a private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home Inc., 281 Chapel St., Swoyersville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Lukas, Dr. Mark L. - Ocean Pines  
Dr. Mark L. Lukas, beloved husband and father, 64, of Ocean Pines, Md., passed away suddenly Friday, May 13, 2016, at his second home in Naples, Fla. Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Leonard S. Lukas and Dorothy Ancin Lukas. He was a graduate of Bloomsburg University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in social welfare, the University of Scranton with a Master of Science degree in rehabilitation counseling, Temple University for doctoral studies, and from Wilmington College with a Doctorate in Education, summa cum laude. Mark maintained a private practice as a vocational consultant in Media, Pa., for more than 20 years. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Berlin, Md. He was preceded him in death by his son, Connor Caffrey Lukas, and his niece, Caroline Zoeller. Surviving are his wife, Mary Jo Lukas, at home; son, Jan-Paul Lukas and his wife, Erin Lukas, Salisbury, Md.; son, Quinn Ancin Lukas, at home; brother, Paul J. Lukas and his wife, Jane A. Lukas, Courtdale; sister, Patricia Lukas Zoeller and her husband, Charles Zoeller, Allendale, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerby Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Pringle. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome or donations to St. Josephs House, 812 Boundary St., Salisbury, MD 21801.

Lynch, Mary Ruth - Wilkes-Barre  
Mary Ruth Lynch, 67, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at her home. She was born in Wilkes-Barre on Nov. 27, 1948, a daughter of Margaret Nat Wasil of Wilkes-Barre and the late John Wasil. Mary Ruth was a 1968 graduate of GAR Memorial High School and she was a graduate of the Wilkes-Barre Area Vocational School of Nursing. Mary Ruth was employed as a licensed practical nurse by Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Little Flower Manor and Tiffany Court. She also volunteered her time at the St. Joseph's Center in Scranton. Mary Ruth was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and daughter. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre. She was preceded in death by her father, John Wasil. Surviving, in additional to her mother, are her husband of 47 years, Lawrence E. Lynch; son, Christopher Lynch and his wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Christopher John and Kylie Morgan Lynch. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Monsignor Thomas M. Muldowney will be the celebrant. Private interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
