Thomas, Lynn R. - Nanticoke  
Lynn R. Thomas, 71, of Orchard Street, Nanticoke, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was born in New Brunswick, N.J., on April 24, 1943, son of Edith Roberts Thomas and the late Sheldon Thomas. Lynn was a member of the Nebo Baptist Church, Nanticoke, and Nanticoke City Fire Department, Engine No. 4. He had served in the U.S. Air Force prior to becoming a bus driver at Martz Trailways. Preceding him in death were a brother, Richard; stepson, Adam Kreitzer; grandson, Butchie; aunt, Dolores Lore. Surviving are his wife, the former Joan Young; children, Daniel and his wife, Rebecca, West Wyoming; Lynn Jr., Wilkes-Barre; David and his wife, Missy, Shavertown; Albert Kreitzer, Pittsburgh; John Kreitzer, Joan Marshallick, Nanticoke; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home Inc., 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Timothy Hall, pastor, officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, West Nanticoke. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Tippett, Robert S. - Kingston  
Robert S. Tippett died at his home on North Maple Avenue in Kingston on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, at the age of 90. Born July 24, 1924, in Wilkes-Barre, to Harold Tippett and Emilie Stevens Tippett, he was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary, Class of 1942, cum laude, and Yale University, Class of 1945W, Phi Beta Kappa. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Bob spent his working life in the real estate and banking industries in the Wyoming Valley. He was the owner, with Edgar H. Wood, of Wood-Tip Construction/Realty Co., and he served for 40 years on the Boards of Directors of the West Side Savings & Loan Association, First Federal Savings & Loan Association, and Franklin First Federal Savings & Loan Association. Bob served as secretary of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Board of Realtors for 35 years and, after founding the Greater Wilkes-Barre Multilist System, he managed it for 36 years. For 14 years, he served as either president or secretary of the Home Builders Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania, and he served as either president or secretary/treasurer of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers for 21 years. Bob also served as president of the Wyoming Seminary Alumni Council, as a member of the Wyoming Seminary Board of Trustees, and as chairman of the Finance Committee of the Shavertown United Methodist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Susan T. House and her husband, James M. House, Bainbridge Island, Wash.; by his son, Robert S. (Rust) Tippett, Park City, Utah; and by his granddaughter, Allison House, Boston, Mass. He is also survived by his longtime beloved companion, Nancy Judd. His wife, Shirley J. Tippett, died in 1985. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Shavertown United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at the Stettler Learning Resources Center on the Wyoming Seminary campus. Everyone is welcome at both the memorial service and the reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wyoming Seminary, the Shavertown United Methodist Church or to any other charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Harold C. Snowdon Home for Funerals Inc., 420 Wyoming Ave., Kingston.

Tyler, Gladys Jenkins  
Funeral services for Gladys Jenkins Tyler, to be co-conducted by the Rev. Donald Perry and the Rev. James Wert, are scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday at Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Dalton. Relatives and friends may pay their respects between 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
