Eddy, Frances  
Frances Eddy, 83, passed away peacefully Monday, July 20, 2015, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Martha Eddy, surrounded by her loving family. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George Eddy. She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Harvard and Thelma Perch; brother, the Rev. Billy Williams; daughters, Joann Gill (Charlie), Ruthann Daube and Gertrude Brown (John); sons, George Eddy (Bonnie), Roy Eddy (Martha) and Wayne Eddy (Patty); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A special thank you to the Heartland Hospice staff and Roy and Martha's daughters, Darlene Tufaro and Tera Steinruck, for being at our side. At her request, there will be no funeral service. Arrangements are by Kielty-Moran Funeral Home Inc., 87 Washington Ave., Plymouth.

Fischer, Mary - Wilkes-Barre Township  
Mary Fischer of Wilkes-Barre Township passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre after a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 23, 1953, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Jane George Stefanski. Mary was a 1971 graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Louis and William Stefanski. Surviving are her sisters, Carolyn Elick and her husband, Peter, Indianapolis, Ind.; Evelyn Kline and her husband, Frank, Dallas; and Ann Morgan and her husband, James, Hope Mills, N.C.; brothers, Stephen Stefanski and his wife, Lee Ann, Malencia, N.J.; Joseph Stefanski and his wife, Lorraine, Wilkes-Barre Township; and John Stefanski and his wife, Theresa, Wilkes-Barre Township; and numerous nieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family by Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.

Gober, Anne E. - Wyoming  
Anne E. Gober, 45, of Wyoming passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015, in Bridgewater Township, Susquehanna County, from injuries she sustained in a motor vehicle accident. She is the daughter of Roger and Carolyn Warner Doolittle of Friendsville. She was a graduate of Montrose Area, Class of 1987, and a graduate of LCCC and Wilkes University with a bachelor's degree in education. She was employed as a bookkeeper by Montrose Auto Parts. She attended St. Anthony of Padua Church of St. Barbara Parish of Exeter. She was secretary of the Wyoming Area Softball Parents Association, and involved with the Wyoming Area Field Hockey Parents Association, Wyoming-West Wyoming Little League and volunteered with various organizations. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Eugene Doolittle. Surviving, besides her parents, are her husband and love of her life, Joseph, of 20 years; children, who are the most precious and important part of her life, Julia E., Grace Anne, Abigail Josephine and Joseph Thomas Gober, all at home; brother, James Doolittle and his wife, Alice, Front Royal, Va.; sister-in-law; Elizabeth Gober-Mangan and her husband, James, Exeter; brothers-in-law, Christopher Gober and his wife, Mary, Nanticoke; Gerard Gober and his wife, Jane, Phoenixville; and Louis Gober and his wife, Lizabeth, Elizabethtown; great-uncles, Frederick Doolittle and his wife, Mary Jo, Binghamton, N.Y.; and Douglas Doolittle and his wife, Linda, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; godmother, Meryl Deemie, Johnson City, N.Y.; friends, Mary Ellen Patrick and her husband, Shawn, Manheim; and Joseph Dolan, Brackney; best friend, Kim Nole, Dunmore; several nieces and nephews; and so many caring friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony of Padua Church of St. Barbara Parish, 28 Memorial St., Exeter. Relatives and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the Mass. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Interment with a committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Quaker Lake Cemetery, Patton Road, Brackney, Susquehanna County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gober Children's Educational Fund, c/o UFCW Federal Credit Union, 377 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, PA 18644.

Goldsworthy, Joseph G. - Wilkes-Barre  
Joseph G. Goldsworthy, 89, of Washington Square Apartments died Friday, July 17, 2015, with his wife by his side. He was born in Jersey City, N.J., on July 7, 1926, the son of the late Thomas H. and Catherine Carbone Goldsworthy. Joseph was a graduate of Snyder High School and was employed in the hotel industry for 22 years. In 1968 he went to work at the University of Newark Medicine and Dentistry Hospital to 1987; when his father died he moved to Pennsylvania and met and married Virginia Gibbons in 1988. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Goldsworthy. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Gibbons Goldsworthy; daughters, Kimberly and Kathleen; sons, Bryan and Matthew; and grandson, Dane. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 1240 Scott St., Wilkes-Barre. The family would like to thank Carl Wright, Maryann and the staff of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart. Arrangements are by Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township.

Golightly, Margaret - Courtdale  
Margaret Golightly, 86, of Courtdale passed away peacefully Sunday, July 26, 2015, in Celtic Hospice, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Luzerne, daughter of the late Andrew and Helen Carroll Tregan, and was a lifelong member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston. Margaret was a homemaker who loved nothing more than cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James Tregan, John Tregan and Thomas Tregan, and sisters, Elizabeth Tregan and Catherine Youngblood. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Robert Golightly; and sister, Joann Tregan, Courtdale. The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Pringle. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Grab, Beverly A. - Thornhurst Twp.  
Beverly A. Grab, 83, of Thornhurst Township died Friday evening, July 24, 2015, at the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger/ CMC in Scranton following a brief illness. Her husband is Joseph M. Grab Sr. The couple celebrated 58 years of marriage on April 27, 2015. Born Dec. 7, 1931 in New London, Conn., she is the daughter of the late George A. and Mabel E. (Beebe) Rogers. She was a 1954 graduate of St. Lawrence Memorial Hospital school of nursing in New London, Conn. In addition to raising her children, she was employed by the VNA Hospice of Lackawanna County as a registered nurse. She was a member of St. Rita's Church in Gouldsboro and in 1968 she was a founding member of the Thornhurst Fire and Rescue Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her children, Linda M. Scott and husband, Keith, Thornhurst Township; Joseph M. Grab Jr., Thornhurst Township; Anne K. Parker and husband, David, Stevens; John A. Grab and wife, Mary, Wellsboro; Susan E. Roberto-Saidi and husband, Emmanuel Saidi, Towson, Md.; Barbara J. de la Vega and husband, Marvin, Chula Vista, Calif.; and Laurie E. Traglia and husband, Frank, Richfield Springs, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren, Amanda, Bryan and Benjamin Scott; Sarah and Lauren, Luke Joshua and Katherine Parker; Jessica and Joseph Grab; Alinafe Saidi; Gabriel and Raphael de la Vega; and Bernadette Traglia; one brother, Ellery Rogers, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, David Grab, in 1980; and her infant son, Stephen Grab; and her brother, Richard Rogers. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mark's Church, Bear Brook Road, Thornhurst, with Bishop John M. Dougherty as celebrant. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church St., Moscow, and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Covington Township. Haskell, William E. - Hanover Township  
William E. Haskell of Hanover Township passed away peacefully Saturday, July 25, 2015, surrounded by his loving family in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Bill served his country proudly with the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. He was awarded several medals and ribbons and earned an honorable discharge. He worked for more than 20 years with the U.S. Postal Service, Wilkes-Barre, until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his loving and cherished wife of more than 59 years, Esther Jones Haskell. He will be sadly missed by his children, daughter, Joanne Bonning, and son, William R. Haskell; grandchildren, Kyra, Brea and Ryan Bonning; and great-granddaughters, Lexie and Raegan. At Bill's request, funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel J. Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre.
