Harbester, Irene J. - Dallas  
Irene J. Harbester, 86, a resident of Dallas, formerly of Wyoming Street, North Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Mrs. Harberster was born in Olivers Mills, daughter of the late Richard and Irene May Swartwood Jones, and was a graduate of the Class of 1947, James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre. She had been a secretary most of her life and had been employed by J. Henry Poole Insurance, Kingston; Lewith & Freeman Real Estate, Wilkes-Barre; and, prior to her retirement, by Petroleum Service Co., Wilkes-Barre. Irene had been an active member of the former Derr Memorial United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, and had been a Sunday school teacher, choir member, member of the United Methodist Women and had served as church secretary for some time. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, H. William Harbester, in 1991. Surviving are her children, William R. Harbester and his wife, Carol, Shavertown; Mrs. Susan I. Bodine and her husband, Jeffrey, Frederick, Md.; and Richard S. Harbester, Yatesville; granchildren, William J., Heather, Jeffrey and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Lillie, Taegan and Liam; brothers, Merlyn Jones and his wife, Ruth, Cranford, N.J.; and Richard K. Jones and his wife, Denise, Macungie; and several nieces and nephews. She will especially be missed by her cat, Odie. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from H. Merritt Hughes Funeral Home Inc., a Golden Rule Funeral Home, 451 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Dr. William D. Lewis, retired United Methodist Church pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The family requests that flowers be omitted and that memorial donations be made to the SPCA, Fox Hill Road, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Hawk, Regina T. "Gina" - Pittston Township  
Regina T. "Gina" (Musto) Hawk, 79, a resident of Pittston Township, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 3, 2016, in the Post Acute Hospital at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Her husband, the love of her life, was the late Joseph J. Hawk Sr., who passed away April 7, 2014. Together, Joe and Gina shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. Born Aug. 2, 1936 in Pittston Township, Regina was the daughter of the late Dominick and Mary (Kennedy) Musto. Raised in the Pittston area, Gina was a graduate of the former Pittston Township High School, Class of 1955. As a child, Gina worked at her family's business, Musto's Store, and helped her mother sell fresh fruits at the Pittston Farmers Market. Later in life, Gina worked at the Comerford Drive-In Theater, Dupont, and also worked in the local garment and cigar factories. In 1963, when Gina married her beloved Joe, she became a proud Air Force wife, traveling the country with her husband. Following his honorable discharge from the service, the couple settled in Swoyersville until the Agnes flood of 1972 destroyed their home. In 1974, they settled in Pittston Township, where she continued to do the job she was most proud of - being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Gina is survived by her son, Dominick Hawk Sr. and his wife, Jennie, and grandson, Dominick Jr., and great-grandson, Noah; her daughter, Mary Jo Gavlick and her husband, Donnie, and granddaughter, Melanie, and grandson, Davey; and her son, Joseph J. Hawk Jr. and his wife, Katie, and granddaughter, Stella. Gina is also survived by her sister, Mary Ann Balucha, as well as her numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to their family doctor and friend, Dr. Charles Manganiello, as well as the staff of the Post Acute Hospital at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, especially nurse Angie, for the excellent care they provided Gina during her time of need. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will be conducted at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday from Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston, with the Rev. Carlos Esquivel, OSJ, her pastor, officiating. Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville. Family and friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Healey, Karen J.  
Karen J. Healey, 46, of Wyoming Avenue, Exeter, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Kingston, she is the daughter of Lawrence Wine and the late Dorothy Coolbaugh Wine. Karen was a manager in the hotel industry. Besides her mother she was preceded in death by daughter, Amy Troy. Surviving are daughter, Jennifer Miers, Glen Lyon; sons, Wayne Miers, Exeter; Jesse Miers, Exeter; siblings, Lawrence Wine, Michael Rambus, Water Troy, Lori Murphy; 6 grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday from Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, with Mark Wine officiating. Relatives and friends may call 2 p.m. until time of service.

Higgins, Lewis R. - Harveys Lake  
Lewis R. Higgins, 66, of Queen of Peace Road, Harveys Lake, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at Celtic Hospice, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. He was the son of the late Lewis H. and Hilda M. Sites Higgins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary R. Higgins. Surviving are his wife, Edna R. Gray Higgins; children, Kenneth G. Higgins and Charles W. Higgins; and grandchildren, Montana Higgins, Lewis Higgins and Destiny Higgins. The funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday from Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, with the Rev. Lawrence D, Reed, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in Harrison and Higgins Cemetery, Tulip Road, Harveys Lake. Holly, Daurice M. - Old Forge  
Daurice M. Holly, 91, of Old Forge, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Born in West Pittston on Jan. 20, 1925, a daughter of the late Maurice and Vernice M. Cleveland. She was a graduate of West Pittston High School Class of 1943 and Wyoming Valley Homeopathic Hospital, Wilkes-Barre in 1946. She served in the Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. Daurice was a registered nurse for the former Taylor Hospital, a private duty nurse for many local hospitals and the Visiting Nurses Association of Scranton. Prior to her retirement, she was a registered nurse at Pennsylvania Department of Health, Scranton. She was a member of the former Luzerne Avenue Baptist Church, West Pittston, a Sunday school teacher, church clerk, served on the Christian Board of Education, the church choir, activities committee, Diaconate, secretary of the official board of the church, chairwoman of the Cambrian Club and a member of the Wyoming Valley Chapter No. 1 Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Holly Sr., in 1980; sister, Phyllis Moss; and cousin, Margaret Lumley. She is survived by sons, Joseph J. Jr., West Pittston; Robert G. and wife, Catherine, Duryea; daughters, Jo-Ann Betz and husband, Joseph, Poolesville, Md.; Judith Holly-Storms, Old Forge; Rebecca Malacari, Wilkes-Barre; Daurice L. Holly, Old Forge; brother, Lewis Arjay Cleveland and wife, Ida, Evans Falls; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. The family of Daurice would like to thank all the medical professionals and caregivers for their loving and compassionate care. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston. The services will be conducted by her great-nephew Scott Cleveland. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Wyoming Valley Chapter No. 1 Order of the Eastern Star will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming.

Keating, Genevieve - West Pittston  
Genevieve Keating, 90, of West Pittston died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at the home of her daughter. Born in West Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Amelia Pepe Carrozza. Genevieve was a life resident of West Pittston, and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Corpus Christi Parish, West Pittston. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, as well as her brother, Peter Carrozza, and sisters, Anita Williams, Angela Rehor and Betty Cooper. Genevieve is survived by her son, Dr. Paul Keating, Haverford; her daughter, Grace Morgan, Pipersville; brother, Francis Carrozza, Pittston; and grandchildren, Paul Connor Keating, Sarah Amelia Morgan and Daniel Paul Morgan. Funeral services will be held Friday, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Corpus Christi Parish, Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke Foundation, 3999 Great Harvest Court, Dumfries, VA 22025, or St. Ann's Basilica, 1233 St. Ann St., Scranton, PA 18504. Kelly, Jean E. - Nanticoke  
Jean E. Kelly, 90, of East Union Street, Nanticoke, passed away peacefully early Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at Birchwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Nanticoke. She was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Nanticoke, and was the daughter of the late Frank and Emelia Kocikoski Rabulinski. Jean was a graduate of Nanticoke High School, Class of 1943, and Kings County Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She then continued her education by attending Brooklyn College, King's College and College Misericordia prior to earning a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing education from Bloomsburg State. After graduation with a degree in nursing, Jean became a staff nurse at Nanticoke State Hospital, and also a private duty nurse in the Nanticoke area and a school nurse administrator at Greater Nanticoke Area schools for 31 years. She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Joseph Kelly. Presently surviving are her daughters, Karen Chepolis, Nanticoke; Janice Kelly, Baltimore, Md.; and Nancy Butzek and husband, John, Nanticoke; grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph and Kylie and Tim and Jenna; and great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Avery and Kyra. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township, at a later date. In accordance with her request, there are no calling hours. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are by Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., Nanticoke.

Kline, Donna Marie (Hunlock) - Ashley  
Donna Marie (Hunlock) Kline, 61, of Ashley passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, with her daughter by her side. Donna married her loving husband, Thomas Kline, of 43 years, on Aug. 5, 1972. He always stood by her side through her battle with cancer. "Together 2 the end." Donna was born Oct. 11, 1954, in Nanticoke. She worked for 25 years at Penn Footwear as a sewing machine operator. She enjoyed camping, board games and Atlantic City trips. She had a love for music and was a great singer. Her great passion in life was her family, which she loved with her whole heart. She had a big heart, kind spirit and loving soul. She is the greatest wife, mother and grandmother we could ever have. She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther (Thomas) Hunlock; father, Edward Hunlock; brothers, David Hunlock, Clarence Hunlock and Richard Hunlock; father-in-law, Hurle Kline; and niece, Melissa Marie Kline. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Kline; daughter, Brenda Marie (Kline) Kivler; grandson, Matthew Kivler; granddaughter, Madison Kivler; son-in-law, Joseph Kivler; sister, Kimberly Hunlock; mother-in-law, Sophie Kline; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends. There is a huge piece of our hearts missing, until we meet again, we will love and miss you always. A prayer service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Charles V. Sherbin Funeral Home, 630 Main Road, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday. Memorial donations may be made to Medical Oncology Associates, 382 Pierce St., Kingston, PA 18704.
