Alba DeCurtis, 88, formerly of Hughestown, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Highland Manor, Exeter.
Born in Pittston on July 20, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Luciano Antoino and Catherina Caruso Mammarella.
She was educated in Hughestown schools and had worked in the local garment industry. She also was a self-employed hairdresser.
She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Pittston, also a deacon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmine G. DeCurtis; brother, Jerome Mammarella; and sister, Mary Perefetto.
Surviving are two sons, Francis DeCurtis and his wife; Louise, West Chester; and Paul DeCurtis and his wife, Nancy, Midland, Ga.; a daughter, Sandy Kempinski and her husband, George, West Nanticoke; six grandchildren, Christina McGuigan, David DeCurtis, Amy Agan, Anissa Langbecker, Jennifer and Alicia Kempinski; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Vincent Mammarella, Exeter; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Highland Manor and Celtic Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Alba.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Second Presbyterian Church, 143 Parsonage St., Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Second Presbyterian Church, Pittston.
