Albert E.S. Cigarski, 71, of Shavertown, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, in his home.
Born in Kingston, Al was the son of the late Albert and Lucy Syroid Cigarski. He was a graduate of West Side Central Catholic High School, Class of 1959, Advanced Trade Schools and Rex Cataldo Barber School. Al also attended Wilkes College.
He was a member of the U.S. Navy
Reserves, having served active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Prior to his retirement, Al was employed by American Asphalt & Paving Co., Shavertown, and was the owner and operator of Al's Barber Shop, Shavertown.
Al was a member of American Legion Post 672, Dallas, and St. Therese's Church, Shavertown.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marie Komski, Shavertown; son, Albert Cigarski and wife, Angela (Dymond), Bel Air, Md.; daughter, Trena Marie Hahn and husband, Brad, Macungie; grandchildren, Jared Michael, Nadia Anne, Colton Michael, Gavin Albert and Tyler Bernard; sister, Charlene Cook and husband, Kenneth, Dallas; brothers-in-law, Walter Komski and wife, Bonnie (Fowler); and Anthony Komski and wife, Roberta (Monoco); several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Therese's Church, Pioneer Avenue and Davis Street, Shavertown. The Rev. James J. Paisley will officiate. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Religious Education Department of St. Therese's Church, 64 Davis St., Shavertown, PA 18708.
