Alice Dolan Travis

Alice Dolan Travis a guest at Little Flower Manor St. Therese Residence, Wilkes- Barre, formerly of Scranton died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at St. Lukes's Villa, following an illness. She was the widow of Earl Travis, who died in 1996.

Born in Scranton on June 17, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Bridget Munley Dolan. She was educated in Scranton schools. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Scranton Lace Co., she was a devoted and active member of St. Vincent de Paul Church for many years and more recently of St. Patrick's Church, West Scranton.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Bronson, Throop; two brothers, John Dolan and wife Therese, Fairfax, Va.; William Dolan and wife, Ann, Edison, N.J.; a brother-in-law, Joseph Stanavage, Ephrata; her caregiver, Shirley Judge, Swoyersville; several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Joseph P. Dolan; two sisters, Margaret Biesecker, and Ann Stanavage, preceded her in death.

The funeral will be conducted Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 1403 Jackson St. Family and friends may pay their respects at the church from 10:30 until time of the Mass. Interment will be private in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Scranton.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton.
