Andrew Hvozda, 77, of Mountain Top passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore.

He was born Sept. 6, 1935, in Nanticoke, to Andrew and Mary Vargala Hvozda and was a graduate of Nanticoke High School.

His employment was with AR Wood Corp., where he had the position of an industrial electrician.

Andrew was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife, the former Marie Jarolim; sisters, Helen Lowery, Anna Wempa, Julie Twardowski and Olga Dargalis; and a brother, John.

Presently surviving are his sisters, Mary Polnasek Suzanne Skiptunas and husband, Anthony; brother, Michael Hvozda and wife, Irene; grandchild, Wayne J. Hvozda; several nieces and nephews.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
