Ann L. Grabinski, 73, of College Hill, Wanamie, died on Thursday, May 2, 2013 unexpectedly at her residence.
She was born in Nanticoke on Aug. 27, 1939, the daughter of the late Robert and Anna (Maher) Smith. She was a 1958 graduate of Harter High School, West Nanticoke. She was a resident of Wanamie most of her life. Ann was employed as an inspector for RCA, Mountain Top, until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Glen Lyon. Ann was an avid hockey fan who followed the Boston Bruins and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. She was also a fan of NASCAR and Tiger Woods.
Preceding her in death were sisters, Roberta Killian and Sarah Jane Yudichak.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Richard Grabinski, at home; daughters, Teri Czarnecki and her husband, Robert, Glen Lyon; and Rita Tocket and her husband, Van, Wanamie; son, Richard Grabinski Jr, Wanamie; six grandchildren, Kevin and Robert Czarnecki, Ryan, William and Mariah Grabinski and Vanessa Tocket; brothers, Thomas Smith, West Nanticoke; and James Smith, Middlesex, N.J.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive; and her beloved cat, Willow.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., Glen Lyon. A Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. from Holy Spirit/St. Adalbert's Church, Glen Lyon. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wanamie. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
