Anna "Annie" Blaski

Anna "Annie" Blaski, 92, of Hanover Township passed away March 18, 2013, at Hampton House Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Blaski; and her son, Gerald Blaski.

Anna was born June 7, 1920, and lived her 92 years in the vicinity of Lee Park. Over the course of her life, she was well known and loved by many. From the early days, when she and Joe ran Blaski's Bar on South Main Street, to the many years she clerked at Blaski's Market, Annie is remembered for her humor and fun-loving personality. She lived her later years in the Lee Park Avenue Towers, where she loved playing cards and telling jokes. In the 1990s, she enjoyed volunteering in the St. Aloyisius school cafeteria, as well as giving up her summer mornings baking and preparing food for the church's summer bazaar.

Aunt Anna will be greatly missed by Sandy, Larry, Benjamin, and Julian.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Aloyisius Church, Division Street, Wilkes-Barre. A private burial will follow.
