Byron Milton Grieves, 79, of Dallas passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2013, at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Edgar and Erma Whiting Grieves.
Byron was a printer with Payne Printery, Dallas, before his retirement.
He was a member of George M. Dallas Masonic Lodge 531 F&AM. Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg, Irem Temple Shrine, Dallas, and the Dallas Fire Company. Byron was also a member of Dallas United Methodist Church.
Byron was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Laverne, Ronald and Edgar.
Surviving are his wife, the former Jannette Moss; children, Robert and his wife, Christine Grieves, Dallas; and Doreen and her husband, Daniel Bevan, Lehman; grandchildren, Jennifer Harabin, Nicholas Grieves, Christopher Grieves, Matthew Bevan and Zachary Bevan; brother, Kenneth Grieves, Largo, Fla.; and sister, Naomi Alday, Georgia.
Byron and Jannette would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 28, 2013.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Robert G. Wood, pastor of Dallas United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The Dallas Masonic lodge will conduct services Sunday evening.
