Carl A. Roman, 97, of Apalachin, N.Y., formerly of Binghamton, N.Y., passed away peacefully and was reunited with his wife, Theresa Roman, on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014.
Born in Pittston on Sept. 28, 1916, he was a son of the late Frank and Carmella Dominick Roman.
Carl was employed for 32 years by K&M Auto Parts, Binghamton, N.Y., and later worked part-time for BCC Book Store.
He lived 97 incredible years and lived every moment for his family. He enjoyed golfing and was a regular at Genegantslet Golf Course. He was also an avid bowler and loved all televised sports, especially Yankees baseball games.
He will always be remembered as a man of pride, dignity, strength and unparalleled love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Peter, Frank, Rocco and Louis Roman.
He is survived by his loving family: daughter, Deb Robinson, son-in-law, John Robinson, Apalachin, N.Y.; sister; Vicki McClean, and brother, Joseph Roman, Pittston; granddaughters, Jennifer Hebbard and Amy Moon; grandson-in-law, Jason Moon; and great-grandchildren, Abigail and David Moon, Wyoming.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday from Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston, with services at 10 a.m. in Second Presbyterian Church, Pittston.
The family will receive friends at Howell-Lussi Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Interment will be held in West Pittston Cemetery.
A Binghamton, N.Y., memorial service is planned for early spring.
