Carl H. Grivner

Carl H. Grivner, 83, of Pringle passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at his home.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Michael and Alberta Mulherin Grivner. He was a 1949 graduate of Coughlin High School.

Carl was employed for many years by McCarthy Tire Co.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville.

He enjoyed spending time near the Susquehanna River, with the love of his life, his dog, Buddy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Florence M. Gender; sisters, Rita Lewis and Catherine Grivner; and his brothers, Michael, Robert, Edward and Richard.

Carl is survived by his children, Carl Grivner; Carol Brown, Camillus, N.Y.; Gary Grivner, Gouldsboro; and Judy Touey, Pringle; grandchildren, John Grivner, Gary Grivner, Tim Brown, Mary Walker, Jeffrey Brown, Zachary Grivner and Sarah Touey; and sisters, Dolores Monick, Mountain Top; and Nancy Yanchuk, Wilkes-Barre.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerby Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church.

Interment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA.
