Cataldo N. LaMarca

Cataldo N. LaMarca of Pittston passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, in Pittston. He was the husband of Claire Dettmore LaMarca.

Born Feb. 5, 1934, in Pittston, he was the son of the late Raymond and Mary Giordano LaMarca. He was a graduate of Pittston High School, Class of 1951.

He was employed by and retired from the Consolidated Cigar Co., where he worked as a foreman at the West Pittston, Pittston and McAdoo plants for 40 years.

He was a proud member of the San Cataldo Society of Pittston. Cataldo was also the president of the Pittston Rod and Gun Club.

He was a proud member of the U.S. Army, where he served in the 579th Signal Corps.

Surviving are children, Mary Claire and husband, James Kelly, Suscon; Susan LaMarca, Old Forge; Theresa and husband, Sam Alaimo, Pittsburgh; Raymond and wife, Amy LaMarca, Pittston; and Ky and wife, Michelle LaMarca, Mountain Top; grandchildren, Jimmy and Jenny Kelly, Stacey Singer, Sam and Chrissy Alaimo, Allie, Mandy and Lindsay LaMarca, and Ky LaMarca; great-grandchildren, Anthony Mathew Singer and Gabriella Koytk; and sisters, Mary Policare, Sue Bellanca and Rose Maholski. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Bruce Saidman and his staff at Medical Oncology Associates for their kindness, care and compassion. Also, the family wishes to send a special thanks to the Outpatient Department at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Graziano Funeral Home Inc., Pittston Township.

Viewing hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday from St. Joseph Marello Parish (Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church), Pittston, the Rev. Paul McDonnell, O.S.J., as celebrant.

Interment services will take place at Lithuanian Independent Cemetery, Wyoming.
