Charles R. Walsh, 87, beloved husband, father, son and brother, passed away Saturday morning, March 29, 2014, in Special Care Hospital, Nanticoke.
He was born in Philadelphia, and later the family moved to Langhorne where he graduated from Langhorne High School in 1944.
He was a U.S. Navy
veteran of World War II
After 46 years as a meat cutter, he retired from Acme Markets.
Charles was an avid gardener, woodworker and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elenore Walsh; brother, William; sister, Eileen Macon; and son, Michael.
Charles and his wife, Sara, would have celebrated their 31st anniversary on July 18, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, the former Sara Aregood; children, Charles Walsh and his wife, Carol, Virginia; Kathleen Buss and her husband, William, Yardley; and Frank Walsh, Levittown; daughter-in-law, Lisa Walsh, Philadelphia; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Jones, Wilkes-Barre; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many wonderful friends and his dog, Carly.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre.
