Clarence Briggs, 79, of Exeter passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at home surrounded by his family.
Born March 26, 1935, in West Pittston, he was the son of Elva George Briggs of Larksville and the late Clarence Briggs Sr. He was a graduate of West Pittston High School, Class of 1953.
He was employed by Craft Oil, Atlas Chain and retired from Procter and Gamble.
He was a former member of Emanon, as well as the Four Seasons Golf Club, where he was club champion for many years. He also enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family.
He was preceeded in death by his brother, Richard Briggs.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Nicolina Ciampi; his mother, Elva George Briggs, Larksville; son, William and his wife, Jean, East Stoudsburg; grandchildren, William and fiancée, Crystal, Pittston; Dana Briggs and Royce Vaughn, Hughestown; and Bridget Rosentel and husband, Jimmy, Bear Creek Township; brothers, Chuck and his wife, Joanne, Colorado; Gene and his wife, Rosemary, Florida; and Bruce and his wife, Linda, Larksville; sisters-in-law, Rosalie and Robert Bugelholl and Toni and Faust Valenti, all of West Pittston; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday from Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston, with a blessing at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be held in West Pittston Cemetery.
Friends may call the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
