Cynthia D. Kruger, 74, of Shavertown died Monday morning, Nov. 11, 2013, at home.
Born in Queens, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late David Marder and Beatrice Wallance.
She was a graduate of The Rhodes School, New York City, N.Y., and received her bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Hunter College, New York City, N.Y. She received her master's degree in special education from Adelphi University.
Cindy was employed as a special education teacher by the Three Village School District, East Setauket, N.Y.
Cindy was a member of Temple Israel Synagogue and many other religious, civic and educational organizations.
Mrs. Kruger is survived by her loving husband, Matthew Kruger; sons, Andrew Kruger and his wife, Cynthia, Orange, Conn.; and Dr. Erik Kruger and his wife, Abbe, Shavertown; five grandchildren, Dan, Sam, Max and Ethan, Sophia Kruger; cousin, Doris Klauber, Staten Island; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred and Barbara Kruger, Commack, N.Y.; and sister-in-law, Roberta Warshawsky, Sun City West, Ariz.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rosenberg Funeral Chapel Inc., 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre. Rabbi Larry Kaplan and Cantor Ahron Abraham will officiate.
Interment will be in Temple Israel Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Shiva will be observed at 13 Ivy Drive, Shavertown, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday; 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; and 1 to 3 p.m. Friday.
