Dominick Joseph Trasciatti

Dominick Joseph Trasciatti, 80, of Wyoming, formerly of Lindenhurst, N.Y., died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, in Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Hilldale, he was the son of the late Oddone and Brigida Campagnucci Trasciatti.

Dominick was a member of St. Monica's Parish at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, West Wyoming, and a former member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Lindenhurst, and Sacred Heart Church, Plains Township.

He was a graduate of Plains High School, Class of 1951. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Korean conflict.

A talented mechanic, he enjoyed a long career with Pan American World Airways and later retired from Delta Airlines. He also worked at the Penn State Belt and Buckle and was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 57 years, Ruth Ellen Gilboy Trasciatti; brothers, Herman, Leonard, Edward, Gino, Enrico; sisters, Ann Testa and Helen Doxbeck; sister-in-law, Mary Theresa Musto; and brother-in-law, James Gilboy.

Surviving are a son, Lawrence Trasciatti, Wyoming; daughter, Mary Anne Trasciatti, and her husband, Steven Caslowitz, Long Beach, N.Y.; grandchildren, Michael, Sam and Bridget Caslowitz; sister, Norma Caparco, Massapequa, N.Y.; sisters-in-law Mary Trasciatti, Hilldale; Helen Trasciatti, Plains Township; Lauren Antosh and her husband, James, Harding; brother-in-law, Frank Musto, West Wyoming; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

Military funeral services accorded by the AMVETS Honor Guard will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Monica's Parish at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Eighth Street, West Wyoming. The Rev. Leo McKernan, pastor, will be celebrant.

Interment will be at the Italian Independent Cemetery.
