Dorothy A. Rother, 86, of Hanover Township passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born March 23, 1927 in Hanover Township, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Klimchak Lesko.
She was a graduate of Hanover High School, Class of 1945, and a graduate of College Misericordia, Class of 1949, where she earned a degree in math and French. She later became a school teacher
in Maryland and Hanover Area, where she taught English. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association.
She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Wilkes-Barre, where she was a member of the parish Altar and Rosary Society and the Senior Citizens Club.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Barney.
Surviving are her loving husband, Donald Rother; children, Robert Rother and his wife, Donna, Hanover Township; Donald Rother Jr. and his wife, Veronica, Allentown; and David Rother, of Jackson, N.J.; eight grandchildren, Robert, Michael, Matthew, Gregory, Ryan, Dawn, Marisa and Lucas; two great-grandsons, Michael and Benjamin.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, formerly St. Aloysius Church, 143 W. Division St., Wilkes Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
