Dorothy L. O'Neill Corgan

Dorothy L. O'Neill Corgan, 94, of Kingston passed away Monday evening, April 29, 2013, at home following an illness, surrounded by her family.

Born in Berwick on Feb. 6, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Christian F. and Lillian Lynch Lutz. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Berwick High School.

Upon marrying and moving to Kingston, she was employed as the director of circulation by the D. Leonard Corgan Library at King's College, Wilkes-Barre, until her retirement.

Mrs. Corgan was a member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, Kingston, and was a greeter for many years at St. Ann's Chapel.

Her first husband, Joseph T. O'Neill, died Dec. 25, 1972. A second husband, William H. Corgan, died Aug. 24, 1999. Two sisters, Beatrice Wright and Mary Hunsinger, preceded her in death, as well as her brother, Alvin Lutz.

Surviving are her daughters, Kathleen Krivenko and her husband, Phillip, Kingston; and Linda Petro, also of Kingston; sister, Geneva Raup, Palmyra; brother, Heister Lutz, Berwick; grandchildren, Richard Holzman and his wife, Megan, Palmyra; Alicia Bond and her husband, David, Courtdale; Jamie Stanley and her husband, Rich, Phoenixville; Jennifer Bailey and her husband, Thomas, Charleston, S.C.; and Jessica Petro and her fiance, Max Hosey, San Francisco, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Krysten and Conner Holzman, Sadie and Braydon Bond, Jackson Stanley and baby girl Griffin Bailey, due in August; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dorothy always called herself a recycled teenager and loved wearing long earrings and was noted for her unusual earring collection. When she volunteered for Meals on Wheels, it was not unusual for her to give away a pair or two to women who were homebound. She loved going to the former Piledggi's Restaurant, Pringle, for dinner and later to Grotto Pizza, Gateway Shopping Center, Edwardsville. Dorothy loved to dance and would often dance around the house! She had a wonderful laugh and a kiss for everyone! She will be greatly missed by friends and family.

The funeral for Dorothy will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from Hugh P. Boyle & Son Funeral Home Inc., 416 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, 339 N. Maple Ave., Kingston. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends and relatives are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
