Edward H. Lidz, formerly of Kingston, of Boston, Mass., died Saturday, June 14, 2014, in Boston.
Ed was born on July 14, 1927, the son of Morris and Dora Lidz. As a teenager, he served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II
. After leaving the service, he graduated from Wilkes College and married Natalie Gelb, to whom he was married for 60 years. They had two sons, Curt David Lidz (deceased) and Dr. Joel Warren Lidz, Boston, Mass. Ed worked many years in his family owned business, M. Lidz, Inc., and was a member of the Ohav Zedek synagogue until moving to Massachusetts in 2011.
He is also survived by brother, Howard Lidz and his wife, Carol, Philadelphia.
Ed and Natalie enjoyed traveling, both on local excursions and to other countries, enjoying their cultures and sights. Ed was an active member of the Wyoming Valley Jewish Community Center and participated in The Mens Club's discussions of national and international affairs. Ed also enjoyed classical music and was a frequenter of the orchestral programs at the Wilkes-Barre Kirby Center and in Boston after moving to Massachusetts.
Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Monday from Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc. 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in B'nai Jacob Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
