Elizabeth Andenno McDermott

Elizabeth Andenno McDermott, of West Nanticoke passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014, at St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes Barre, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sarasota Springs, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Ralph Andenno and Elizabeth Tucker Andenno.

She was a member of All Saints Parish, Plymouth.

Betty was an avid golfer and bowler throughout the Wyoming Valley. She greatly enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and spending time with her many friends. She loved baking and cooking everything from scratch.

She lived life to the fullest and was a fighter to the very end and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, William McDermott; daughter, Carol Siminowicz Wheeler, Swoyersville; two grandchildren, Renee Edlund Gudaitis, Larksville; and Evette Edlund Wermuth, Edwardsville; three great-grandchildren, Jessica Erika, and Bryana; one great-great-grandchild due in August; three sisters, Florence Andenno, Marie Gajewski, and Faye Vancott; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Frank and Peggy Yuhas.

Friends are invited to meet at All Saints Parish, 66 Willow St., Plymouth, at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday for Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Vincent's Cemetery, Larksville. Funeral arrangements are by S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth.

There will be no calling hours.
