Elizabeth (Betty) Loftus, 89, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, in Celtic Hospice at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre on April 12, 1925, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Elizabeth M. Huether Frank.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1943. She was formerly employed for many years by the Fowler, Dick & Walker Department Store/Boscov's Department Store in Wilkes-Barre, prior to her retirement.
Elizabeth was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Church in Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Loftus, in 1998; and by her brother, Carl J. Frank, in 2012.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Joseph C. Loftus and his wife, Bonnie, Hanover Township; daughter, Patricia Davis and her husband, Gary, Kingston; grandchildren, Kevin and Katie Loftus and Lauren and Megan Davis; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre.
Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
