Florence S. Siecko

Florence S. Siecko of Dallas passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at HCR ManorCare, Kingston.

Born June 10, 1923, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Jocyfczyk Plewniak.

Florence attended Wilkes-Barre Township schools and was employed for many years by Penn State Belt and Buckle, Wilkes-Barre Township. She also worked as a housekeeper at the law firm of Rosenn, Jenkins and Greenwald.

She was a member of Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre, and president and 50-year member of the Ladies Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family and her church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1974; sister, Victoria, in 1993; and brother, Stanley, in 2009.

Surviving are her sons, Charles Siecko and his wife, Louise Waslick, Luzerne; and Stephen Siecko and his wife, Regina, Buck Township; daughter, Sally Updyke and her husband, Edward, Dallas; grandchildren, Andrew and William Celmer, Corrine, Candice and Levi Updyke and Joshua Siecko; and great-grandchildren, Allison, Ashleigh, Natalynn and Kiera.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church, Sheridan Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Very Rev. Thaddeus J. Dymkowski, pastor, will be the celebrant.

Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Wilkes-Barre Township.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
