Frances C. Glova

Frances C. Glova, 92, of Oxford, formerly of Nanticoke, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, in Hahnemann Unversity Hospital, Philadelphia.

Born in Warrior Run on March 11, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Kajetan and Frances Nadwodny Stachyra.

Frances attended Nanticoke area schools was and a member of the former St. Mary's Church, now St. Faustina Parish Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 350, Nanticoke, and the Polish National Alliance.

She was employed by McGregor & Rifkin sewing factories as a seamstress, retiring in 1984.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund, on Nov. 24, 2000; sisters, Anna Sivulich, Helen Shipierski and Rose Wydra; and brothers, Joseph Stachyra Sr., John and Andrew Stachyra.

Presently surviving are her daughter, Frances McLaren and husband, Charles, Landenberg; brother, Edward, Nanticoke; sister, Mary Ann Stone, Nanticoke; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., 51-53 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Faustina Parish Church, secondary site. The Rev. James Nash will officiate.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends are invited to join the family for calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Faustina Parish Renovation Fund.
