Francis Corcoran of Shavertown passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Francis and Elizabeth Simms Corcoran Sr.
Francis was an Army
veteran of the Vietnam era.
Prior to retirement, he was employed as a machine operator by General Motors
and he also owned and operated Corcoran Pools Inc.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
, Kingston; the American Legion of Swoyersville and Dallas; and he also donated his time to the SPCA, Plains Township.
The family would like to thank the ICU Unit at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre, for all of their compassion.
Surviving are his wife, the former Patricia Cebrick; a daughter, Jacqueline Corcoran, Nevada; a son, Francis Patrick Corcoran, Massachusetts; and sisters, Mildred Confair, Douglasville; Betty Lou Bovolick, Kingston; and Anne Marie Bossard, Wilkes-Barre.
The funeral service for Francis will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home Inc., 281 Chapel St., Swoyersville, with a Mass of Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Swoyersville.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery, Dallas.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Parastas service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
