Frank Rocco, 98, of Mountain Top, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 13, 2014, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Manhattan, N.Y., on Jan. 11, 1916, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Teresina Rocco. A World War II Army
veteran, Frank was employed by the New York City water department, until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, Mountain Top.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.
Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, the former Rosalie Scognamiglio; a son, Alan, Albrightsville; and a daughter, Dolores and husband Thomas Galaskewicz, Mountain Top; one granddaughter, Christy and husband Matthew Kalmanowicz, Carlisle; two grandsons, Robin Galaskewicz and wife, Jill, Mountain Top; Frank Galaskewicz and wife, Danielle, Erie; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Monday at 10:15 a.m. from Desiderio Funeral Home Inc., 436 S. Mountain Blvd, Mountain Top, with a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. in St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, Mountain Top, with interment to follow in Indiantown National Cemetery, Annville.
