Frederick W. (Freddy) Reich

Frederick W. (Freddy) Reich, 87, of Pittston Township passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born Jan. 15, 1927, he was a son of the late George and Anna Grau Reich.

Freddy was employed as a salesman by Bond Bread, New York, and Taystee Bakery, New York. He also worked as a repairman for Zenith Television Corp.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Queen of the Apostles Parish, Avoca.

Freddy loved all sports, especially baseball. His favorite team was the Yankees.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish Freddy's memory are his loving wife of 67 years, Agnes K. Stianche Reich; sons, Joseph Reich, Greentown; Frederick Reich, Greeley; Thomas Reich, Bronx, N.Y.; James Reich, White Haven; and Gregory Reich, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; daughter, Marguerite Reich Jeffs, Stoughton, Mass.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Rita Carreau, Far Rockaway, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of the Apostles Parish, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca. The Rev. Phillip J. Sladicka will officiate. Interment will follow in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.
