Genevieve (Jean) Nudo, 84, of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
She was born June 9, 1929, in Larksville, one of eight children born to Joseph and Margaret Znobola Skura. She attended Plymouth schools and was formerly employed for many years by Carter Rubber Footwear.
Mrs. Nudo was a member of St. Benedict's Parish, which was the former St. Dominic's Church, Parsons. She also belonged to the Northeastern Pennsylvania Orchid Society.
In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Nudo, who passed away Oct. 18, 1997.
Surviving are her sons, Louis Nudo and his wife, Deborah, Wilkes-Barre; and Charles Nudo and his wife, Sybil, Wilkes-Barre; daughter, Margaret Deaven and her husband, Lynn, Harrisburg; grandchildren, Daniel Nudo, Adam Nudo and his wife, Lori, Mary Azarewicz and her husband, Jason, Angelo Nudo and his wife, Kelley, Angela Luther and her husband, Michael, Christopher Deaven and Rachel Reed and her husband, Dustin; 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict's Church, Austin Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
