Harold J. Hannon, 73, of Wilkes-Barre Township passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Celtic HealthCare, Inpatient Unit, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre on Aug. 22, 1940. He was the son of the late Daniel and Agnes Harrison Hannon.
He was employed by Topps Inc., Scranton, until his retirement in 2003, where he was a member of the Central Pennsylvania Teamsters Union.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, most especially his nieces and nephews and their families, all whom he loved dearly. He also enjoyed camping with his family and friends and working on his model train collection.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel and Thomas Hannon, and his beloved dog, Panda.
Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, the former Margaret Shigo Hannon; sister, Beverly Arcuri; brothers, William and Leo Hannon; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with the Rev. Carol Coleman officiating.
Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hanover Township.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harold's name to Celtic HealthCare.
