Henry C. Novak

Henry C. Novak, 90, of East Grand Street, Nanticoke, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Kingston Health and Hospice Center.

He was born in Nanticoke on March 9, 1924, and was the son of the late John and Anna Novak.

Henry was a life resident of Nanticoke and was married to the former Anna Obaza Novak, who preceded him in death. He also attended Nanticoke schools.

Henry was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of American Legion Post 971, Wanamie.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Kanar Inc., Wilkes-Barre, and Retreat State Hospital as a painter in the maintenance department.

Along with his wife, Henry was preceded in death by his sons, Walter and Raymond Novak; a longtime companion, Celia O'Rourke; sisters, Amelia Siarkowski and Eleanor Halchak; and brothers, Edward, Stanley, Leo and Joseph Novak.

He is presently survived by a daughter, Sherry Molner, Shavertown; sister-in-law, Loretta Novak, Nanticoke; nieces, Dolores Dietl, Kingston, N.Y.; and Diane Rybak, Nanticoke; nephews, Richard Novak, Nanticoke; and Leo Novak, Hanover Township; and great-nephews, Ryan and Kevin Novak, Nanticoke.

Interment will be held in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Nanticoke. Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
