James M. Cwalina, 45, of Larksville passed into eternal peace Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the family home, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.
Born March 27, 1968, in Kingston, he was the son of the late Edward J. Sr. and Mary E. Holmes Cwalina.
He was a graduate of West Side Technical High School, Pringle, Class of 1986, and a member of All Saints Parish, Plymouth.
Jim was employed by A.E.P. Industries of Mountain Top. Prior to this, he was employed by Certainteed Corp. of Mountain Top and Comfort Designs of Kingston.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post 283 of Kingston, American Legion Post 395 of Kingston, and a member of the Dart League in Kingston.
Jim enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He had a passion for music, and played the drums and sang with various bands in the area. Together, he and his wife, Dorothy, were D.J. karaoke hosts and brought joy to people with music and singing at many establishments throughout the area.
Jim was a very loving and active husband and father. He took pleasure in watching his daughters grow. He lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends, and will forever be remember as being a loving, compassionate and caring person.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Dorothy A. Hartman, Larksville.
Surviving are his loving wife, the former Dorothy Hartman, and loving daughters, Kristina Cwalina and Amanda Cwalina, both at home. Jim and Dorothy were high school sweethearts and were married for 25 years.
He is also survived by his two older brothers, Edward Cwalina Jr. and his wife, Karen, Center Valley; and Michael Cwalina and his wife, Marueen, Auburn, Wash.; father-in-law, Patrick Hartman Sr. and his companion, Gladys Twardowski; sister-in-law, Patricia Pedana; brother-in-law, Patrick Hartman Jr.; several aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday from S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in All Saints Parish, 66 Willow St., Plymouth.
Interment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
