James W. Levan, 61, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Monday, April 7, 2014, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
He was born Dec. 26, 1952, in Bloomsburg, a son of Betty Beagle Levan of Catawissa and the late Ervin J. Levan. A 1970 graduate of Southern Columbia High School, he received an associate degree in business from Williamsport Area Community College.
Mr. Levan was a hardware salesman for many years and most recently he was employed by the Walmart in Pittston.
He was a member of St. Andre Bessette Parish, Wilkes-Barre, and also belonged to the Danville BPOE
754 and the Danville East End Fire Company.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching Penn State football and going to the Mohegan Sun casino.
The family would like to thank the morning nurses and support staff of the Henry Cancer Center for the care and encouragement that they provided.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 35 years, Patricia Cahill Levan; daughter, Megan Levan; twin brother, Thomas C. Levan, Catawissa; brother, John E. Levan, Coatesville; one niece, seven nephews, three great-nieces and five great-nephews.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
