John W. Edwards

John W. "Cracker Jack" Edwards, 64, of Hunlock Creek died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012.

Born Aug. 9, 1948, in Hazleton, he was a son of the late John William and Anna Morris Edwards.

Jack was a graduate of Walt Whitman High School, Huntington Station, N.Y.

A Navy veteran of the Vietnam era, he enlisted in June 1967 and was stationed aboard the USS Saratoga when he was discharged in November 1970.

Jack was employed for 20 years by UGI Electric in Hunlock Creek, retiring two years ago.

Jack truly enjoyed life and was there whenever a helping hand was needed. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and, most of all, riding his motorcycle while participating in benefit rides with his brothers from the Flying Aces M.C.

His parents, an uncle, aunt and brother preceded him in death.

He was a kind man and will truly be missed by all, especially his wife of 23 years and true soul mate, the former Katherine Ahrens; his two loving dogs and cat; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Jack's life will be held at noon Friday in Oak Lawn Cemetery, 1250 S. Main St., Hanover Township. All are invited to attend.

Arrangements are by McLaughlin's − The Family Funeral Service.

Permanent messages and memories may be shared with Jack's family at www.celebratehislife.com.
