Joseph C. Nardone

Joseph C. Nardone, 75, of West Pittston passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Old Forge, he was the son of the late Dominick and Louise Talerico Nardone. He was a graduate of West Pittston High School, Class of 1956, and received his bachelor's degree in education from Bloomsburg University.

He was a veteran of the Army Reserves.

For 50 years he owned and operated, along with his parents, Nardone's Restaurant of West Pittston. After retiring from the restaurant business, he was employed by Wyoming Homes and prior to his illness was employed by Pace Transportation.

Mr. Nardone was very instrumental in the formation and development of the Greater Pittston Legion Baseball and while attending West Pittston High School he participated in three sports but excelled in football.

Preceding him in death were his sister, Marie Short, and his wife, Rosemary Nardone.

Surviving are his daughters, Lisa Nardone and Dominique Nardone.

A memorial service with the celebration of Joe's life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Trinity Episcopal Church, 220 Montgomery Ave., West Pittston, with the Rev. John Major officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
