Joseph L. Scupski

Joseph L. Scupski, 74, of Barnes Street, Ashley, died early Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at home.

Born in Ashley, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marian Ciesienski Scupski, was a graduate of Ashley High School and served in the U.S. Army Airborne as a paratrooper, where he was the recipient of the Parachutist Badge, Expert Badge (carbine) and Rifle Sharpshooter Badge.

He was employed for more than 30 years by Offset Paperback, Dallas, and was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping. He was a member of the American Legion, Ashley Post 673.

Joe is survived by his wife, the former Beth (Betsy) Sult; son, John Scupski and his wife, Raymie, Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Sandra, Wilkes-Barre; stepdaughters, Shana Sult and her husband, Edward Sromovski, Ashley; and Kelly Sult, Plymouth, and her fiancé, Tim Taylor; six grandchildren; and sister, Bernadine Varaly, Mountain Top.

A funeral service with military honors will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday from Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Friends may call from noon until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
