Karen A. Crawford

Karen A. Crawford, 71, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Wilkes-Barre she was the daughter of the late William and Genevieve Krebs Raeder. She was educated in Wilkes-Barre schools. For many years she was employed by Carter Rubber of Wilkes-Barre.

Having been a recipient of a kidney donation, on her death she gave the gift of life to others.

Preceding her in death was a brother, William Raeder.

Surviving are her husband, Phillip, with whom she would have celebrated 45 years of marriage in October; daughters, Karen Franklin and her husband, John, Tunkhannock; Lynne Cox, Richmond, Va.; and Lesley DiPinto, Rochester, N.Y.; grandchildren, Keri and Derik Franklin, Tunkhannock; Stephen and Morgan Cox, Richmond, Va.; and Ryleigh DiPinto, Rochester, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on July 19 in Albert Cemetery, Mountain Top.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
