Leo Krawietz, 91, of Trucksville passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, in Kindred Hospital Wyoming Valley.
Born in Wyoming, he was the son of the late John and Sophie Mrozowski Krawietz. He was educated in the Wyoming schools.
He was an Army
veteran of World War II
Mr. Krawietz owned and operated his own contracting business building homes.
He was a member of St. Frances X. Cabrini Church, Carverton; the American Legion, Joseph E. Conlon Post 558, Plains Township; and the Disabled American Veterans.
Preceding him in death were a son, Thomas Krawietz; grandson, Michael Bolin; several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, the former Marian Karaffa; children, Lorraine Phillips and her husband, Robert, Hunlock Creek; and Romaine Korsun and her husband, Michael, Trucksville; sister-in-law, Marge Krawietz, Scranton; grandchildren, Lori Castrillo, Darlene Gilpin, Valerie Kwashnik, Jennifer McBane, Joseph Bolin, Steve Bolin, Christopher Korsun and stepgrandson, Michael Korsun; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday from Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Frances Cabrini Church, 585 Mount Olivet Road, Carverton.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
