Louis Cella, 67, of Harding passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013. He was surrounded by his loving family in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in West Pittston to the late Louis and Elvera Petrucci Cella, he graduated from West Pittston High School in 1964 and Wilkes-Barre Business College. In 1988, Louis graduated from College Misericordia with a degree in business administration.
He was employed as a sales consultant by Bonner Chevrolet for 21 years and retired from Bonner Chevrolet in December 2012.
Louis' hobbies were his family, his home and people. He had a warm and engaging nature and enjoyed nothing more than a robust and lively conversation. Louis was a tireless caretaker of his family, jumping into any project that needed a manager, advisor or worker. Louis' legacy is his deep love for his family and friends.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his brother, Anthony.
Surviving Louis are his wife of 41 years, Vita (Anzelmo); sons, Lou, Harding; and Mario and his wife, Stacy, Dallas; his two "baby dolls," his grandchildren, Giavanna and Nico, Dallas; his sisters, Sandra, Mary Ann and Lucille, West Pittston; and his two granddogs, Nittany and Bruschi.
Louis' family wishes to thank the staff at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Geisinger Danville and the John Heinz Rehabilitation Hospital for their compassionate care.
The funeral will be held at noon Saturday from Anthony Recupero Funeral Home, 406 Susquehanna Ave., West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. in Holy Redeemer Church, Harding, with Monsignor John Sempa officiating.
Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Harding.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Red Cross.
