Louise D. Konetski

Louise Dorothy Konetski, of Main Street, Sugar Notch, was called home to be wrapped in the arms of her loving Savior on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, while a guest at the Little Flower Nursing Home, Wilkes Barre.

Louise was born in Parsons on Jan. 30, 1922, the daughter of the late Stanley and Rose (Psikus) Krzywicki. She just celebrated her 92nd birthday. She attended the Wilkes-Barre Area schools and resided most of her lifetime in Sugar Notch, where she was a member of Holy Family Parish. She was employed at Lerner's in the Wyoming Valley Mall until her retirement in 1986. Louise was an amazing woman who worked most of her life serving others. She worked tirelessly at baking, cooking, canning and cleaning for any of her family and friends in need. She was a faith-filled woman who would say countless rosaries and prayers for others. As time went on and she could no longer climb the steps of her church, Louise was a faithful follower of televised masses and though contending with her own illnesses, she still remembered others and offered special prayers for them.

"Nana" as she was affectionately known by her loving grandchildren, will be desperately missed by them and the rest of the family.

Preceding her in death by sisters, Helen Rohrs, Jennie Gulius, Irene Yurkanin; and brother, Stanley Krzywicki.

Surviving are her devoted husband, Carl L. Konetski Sr., at home. They would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on Feb. 27, 2014. Sons, Carl L. Konetski Jr. and his wife, Mary Ellen, Hanover Township; Ronald Konetski, Wilkes-Barre; two grandchildren, Dr. Dina Konetski Becker and her husband, Bob; and Nicholas Konetski and Julie Willenkin; sisters, Rita Gayoski and husband, Bernard, Parsons; and Florence Pawlowski, Parsons; nieces and nephews also survive as well as her loving puppy, Coco.

Private funeral services will be held Wednesday from the George A. Strish, Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. from Holy Family Church, Main St., Sugar Notch. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hanover Township. There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to celebrate the Mass and congregate by 9:50 a.m. at the church.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Patrick Kerrigan, DO for his many kindnesses and the wonderful care given to her in her time of need and also to Dr. Dan Saporito, DPM for his care and always making Louise smile with his kind words. A special thank you to the staff of Little Flower Manor including all who touched Louise's life in any way.
