Lucille J. Long, 81, of Plymouth passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, in Wilkes Barre General Hospital.
Born March 26, 1933 in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Sheldon and Hannah Samies Morgan. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1951, and a member of the First Welsh Baptist Church, of Plymouth.
Prior to her retirement, Lucille had been employed by R.C.A. Corp., Mountain Top, for many years. Prior to this, she was the owner and operator of Lucille Long's Beauty Salon and was employed by Issac Long Department Store.
She was a member of the Goodwill Hose Company No. 2 Ladies Auxiliary, Plymouth. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, the Shawnee Senior Citizen's Club, and Plymouth Cambria Club. She was very active as a Plymouth Girl Scout Troop leader and greatly enjoyed chaperoning her grandchildren's bus trips. Lucille was also one of the founders of the Shawnee Indians Cheerleading Program.
She was preceded in death by her son, Donald D. Long; brother, Sheldon H. Morgan; sister-in-law, J. Lenore Morgan; and great-niece, Shelli Lafferty.
Surviving are her daughters, Michele Seith and her husband, Bryan, Sandy Spring, Md.; and Donna Dopko, Plymouth; grandchildren, Hannah Kerr and her husband, Steff, L. Karl Seith, Cyrus J. Matthews, Jamie Lyn Matthews Peters, Christian W. Seith, Cassie J. Massaker-Vomero, Imani Seith, and Manita Lucille Seith; great-grandchildren, Thaddeus Kerr, Remington Kerr, Cora Kerr, Ella Morgan Matthews, Brenden Matthews; sister, Hannah (Betty) Morgan, Plymouth; niece, Lynne Lafferty and her husband, Dan; great-nephew, D.J. Lafferty.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with the Rev. Anita J. Ambrose, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday.
