M. Jane Harry Baucher

M. Jane Harry Baucher, 100, of Pine Crest Lane, Shickshinny, died Sunday morning, Feb. 10, 2013, at Bonham Nursing Center, Huntington Township, where she had been a resident since June.

Born Feb. 7, 1913, in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Crotzer Harry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood L. Baucher, in February 1994.

Mrs. Baucher was a 1931 graduate of Berwick High School. Years ago she managed a dress department in a department store in St. Louis.

She was a devoted member of the Town Hill United Methodist Church, where she sang in the chancel choir, taught Sunday school, Bible school and assisted with the bake sales and church dinners. She was also a member and treasurer of the Hobby Group and served on numerous committees of the church.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was a constant provider of love, pride and encouragement. "Mom," "Mom-Mom" or "Aunt Jane" will always be remembered as our inspiration. Love was the road that she traveled and the fruits of her journey are exemplified in the vast amount of people that loved her.

Surviving are her three children, William E. Baucher and his wife, Carol, Lewes, Del.; Linda J. Heckman and Mary E. (Mimi) Graul and her husband, Randy, all of Lake Pine Crest, Shickshinny. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a sister, Isabel Shuman and her husband, Joseph, also residents of Bonham Nursing Center.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Patrick Heckman; a son-in-law, Pete Heckman; four sisters, Elizabeth Busch, Dorothy Knobloch, Helen Schenck and Ruth Harry; and by a brother, John Harry.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date by McMichael Funeral Home Inc., Benton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Town Hill United Methodist Church Chancel Choir, 417 Town Hill Road, Shickshinny, PA 18655.
