Margaret A. Kaschak

Margaret A. Kaschak, 90, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, Oct. 25, 2012, at the Golden Living Center, Summit Campus, Wilkes-Barre, where she had been a guest since May.

Her loving husband is Michael S. Kaschak Sr. Together, Michael and Margaret celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Aug. 9, 2012.

Born on Aug. 9, 1922 in Swoyersville, Margaret was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Marcinko) Ragan.

Raised in Swoyersville, Margaret was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1940.

A homemaker most of her life, Margaret took great pride in tending to the daily needs of her home and family. In her earlier years, Margaret was employed as a bank teller by the former Forty Fort Bank.

Margaret was a faithful Catholic and life member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Swoyersville, where she held membership with the parish's Confraternity of Christian Women and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Following the consolidation of her church in June, Margaret became a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.

Margaret had great love and devotion for her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family meant the world to her and she treasured every moment she had with them. Her presence will be deeply missed but her beautiful spirit will always live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

In addition to her parents, George and Anna Ragan, Margaret was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Leila Kaschak; and her great-grandson, Joseph Michael Kaschak.

In addition to her loving husband, Michael, Margaret is survived by her children, Phillip Kaschak and his companion, Carol, Navarre, Fla.; Joseph Kaschak and his wife, Marion, Centermoreland; Thomas Kaschak and his wife, Tracie, Hanover, Va.; Michael Kaschak Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, Centermoreland; Stephen Kaschak and his wife, Ruth, Courtdale; John Kaschak and his wife, Judy, Wilkes-Barre Township; Peggy Polney and her husband, Edward, Swoyersville; her 13 grandchildren; her seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Anna Domnick, Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville.

Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.

Family and friends are invited to call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The Confraternity of Christian Women of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. Thursday.
